PAFA MUSEUM INSTALLATION

After experimenting with virtual reality painting in my friend, Jane Lafarge Hamill’s studio, I became determined to make an immersive 3 dimensional painting in the physical world.“A FLASH BECOMES ON” was the result. The project was an installation I did in 2017 for my graduate thesis exhibition and was featured in the PAFA museum. It consisted of the looping audio that is featured in the video above that museum goers would listen to as they walked around the piece. I  made, constructed, and installed all of the sculptures and cut out- painted elements single handedly. The 14 foot high x 38 ft long 20 ft wide installation was made out of  plywood, black landscaping tarps, paint, stickers and scrap wood. I spent every last dime I had at the time to make this thing and to this day consider it one of my greatest artistic accomplishments.
